Planning a Sweet 16 Party
Turning 16 is a big deal for many teen-aged girls. They want to celebrate in style with their friends; however, it is easy for the planning and costs to get out of hand if mom and dad don't set, and enforce, limits. The following suggestions will help you plan a fun party while keeping the bank account intact. Set a budget. Decide how much you can spend and how flexible you are willing to be. It is never a good idea to go... (posted by Glenna 1 year 69 days ago.)

RSVPs - Do They Mean Anything Today?
If you have planned an event in the last few years and asked invitees to RSVP, you may have encounted resistance, or, worse yet, people who RSVPed they were coming, but didn't show, leaving you with possibly hundreds of dollars in wasted food. The trend seems to be getting worse with each passing year. RSVP is French for "Respond, please." It means just that. Invitees need to respond even if they do not plan to... Want to Get Married by Proxy? It's Legal in Montana
Are you on active duty with the military and want to get married? Your fianc/fiance can't be present either? That's okay in Montana, the only U.S. state that allows double proxy marriages. Only a few counties allow the practice, however. For a fee, you can hire someone to stand in for both the bride and groom. To qualify for such a marriage, both the bride and groom must be U.S. citizens. In addition... (posted by Glenna 1 year 323 days ago.)

Using Sparklers at Your Event
As we gear up for summer events, people begin thinking of things they can do to make their event unique. One of those things is using sparklers. Originally available only near the 4th of July, sparklers can now be purchased year round from numerous web sites. Children love them and brides and grooms are increasingly including them in their wedding reception, but sparklers can be dangerous. You... (posted by Glenna 2 years 21 days ago.)

Maid of Honor-zillas
We have all heard horror stories about bridezillas and mom-zillas, but a recent trend is the maid of honor-zilla. This is the person who is so focused on helping her friend/sister/cousin have a wonderful wedding that she bends all the rules of etiquette, courtesy, and even common sense to get things done her way, no matter how many people she alienates or whose feelings she hurts. She plans an extravagant shower that she can't afford... (posted by Glenna 2 years 41 days ago.)

Gift Giving 101
I answer etiquette questions on several web sites. From time to time we receive questions about gifts, usually from people wanting to know how to tell their guests what to give them, but occasionally from people confused about gift giving. Take a look at a few recent questions: " How do we ask for no gifts because we have a small house but instead for people to bring cards and insert money into them to help us on our 2nd honeymoon...
